Ream bump stops are easy, nothing to worry about.

1. Support car, wheel off.

2. Put a scissor jack (or anything really) under the spring platform, just to hold it there so the spring doesn't fall out when you remove the damper.

3. Remove lower nut and bolt (16mm), easy.

4. Remove 2 top bolts (16mm), can be tight, but plenty of easing fluid and in-out action eventually brings them free.

5. Damper then just drops off. Next you have to remove the top nut to get to the stop.

6. Pop off the plastic dome cap with a screwdriver or fingernail. Can't remember the nut size (16 or 18mm deep offset spanner maybe), you'll need to hold the strut to undo the nut. I used a small adjustable spanner because I don't have a 5mm (or whatever! It's small anyway!) spanner. You could use mole grips too.

7. Once the top nut is off then you can just pull the top mount off with the bump stop and dust boot.

8. Replace the bump stop by pulling out the old one and pushing in the new one by hand. Then just pop the dust boot back on.

9. Then just re-assemble in reverse order.

30mins per side maybe, piece of piddle.

You can replace the bolts if you want to, but you don't need too.

Many thanks Bodge .....Top man:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Glad to be of service mate! Reference your other question Fattmo, I bought Skoda parts (bump stops and bolts).

Wish I'd gone to GSF for the stops, because they are a rip off from Skoda for what is just a lump of foam! So yeah go pattern for the stops, anything will do. Part numbers are in the sticky.

Fatty, we did have a video of my mates lotus smashing into the barrier later that day, but it conveniently got 'lost'! We pretty much had the track to ourselves when it was raining hard, so much arsing about was had. Slowest lap anyone?!
