Thule roof bars

Featured Replies

I have a Thule roof aero bar system for my old car, a Mercedes A-Class.

Now I've got the vRS Fabia I've been looking into what I need to replace to get the aero bars to fit.

According to all the web sites I need a new foot pack and fitting kit (fair enough), but they also say I need new bars.

Looking into it, the aero bars are all the same apart from the length. Mercedes ones are 120cm & Fabia ones 108cm

My question is - why can't I just put the new feet on my old bars, there is adjustment in the spacing of the feet, and I can't imagine an extra 11mm on each side will make a lot of difference.

Has anyone any experience of fitting Thule aero bars?

That works out at 60mm per side doesn't it?

Does indeed. Not used to CMs and I'm tired - my excuse anyway :o

That's why the bars are different then - bugger, more expense.

If the old bars have enough adjustment, just cut them down to 1.08 m. Saves the expense of new bars
