Problem with Armrest on Jumbo box

Featured Replies

Hi All

I have managed to do something to the armrest on the jumbobox on our new car. I forgot that it slides and rested my arm and used it is an anchor to swivel on as I reversed out of the garage and it slid forward suddenly. Now it won't slide back properly and is very stiff - I suspect it's come off a rail or something inside. I swear I didn't use much force!

It's going to the service dept at the dealer on Monday for a checkover (it's new but not brand new and I wanted to check the diagnostics and also ask about fitting a towbar), so will ask them to have a look at it then.

Has anyone else experienced this and was it easily fixed. If it needs to be repaired do you think I can claim this under warranty - it shouldn't be that easy to break the mechanism surely

I have never really got the hang of the thing, but it should slide back if it is down and level.

Solved

Dealer had a look, found a piece of "debris" inside - and now it works fine - no charge, and they also ran diagnostics and found no problems so all good
