Hi there,I have a problem with aircon on my 02 fabia estate tdi.I had it on diagnostic and it showed the following faults:

code 01596 Motor fresh air recirculating valve (V154) short with ground

Motor fresh air recirculating valve blocked no voltage.

I found out that code 01596 stands for the AC/heater recirculation flap motor.

Does anybody know wether it is a common problem in fabias?

How difficult is to replace the recirculation flap motor?Has anybody done this before?

Would appreciate comments,help.

Fairly common. Not a DIY job unless you have a full service manual, and are prepared to rip out half the dash/ centre consul. Probably worth having the EVAP sensor replaced at the same time.

I have been quoted £300 inc. VAT (fitted), to replace both, and it will take a garage about 3 hours to do.
