Can anyone tell me wether the Vrs 1 1.8t ever came with an 02J-B gearbox?

All 5 speed vRS's were the 02J.... I've never heard of a 02J-B:confused:

Me neither, 02J and 02R being the ones ive heard of.

There is an 02J-B according to Jabba. Its got a smaller ring gear!

Jabba are telling me an 02j diff will not fit my car. They are insisting on selling me the 02J-B diff!

Badly need help here!

Odd, not sure about other companies but quaiffe only list one diff for the 02J, mine fitted no problems.

I was told by Jabba that to fit a quaife box to my car they would need to machine the crown wheel themselves to make it fit.

It all comes from vw changing the 02-J box in 2004. There is some ring gear that was originally 114mm was changed to 113mm. I'm not sure if this change happened with the vrs but Jabba tell me it did. I even rang Skoda here in Ireland and they never heard of it but are looking into it.
