Noise from new suspension

Featured Replies

Had the eibach / koni combo fitted yesterday, handling is fab, only downside is that the car now takes a certain dislike from a comfort point of view to concrete motorways / rough urban roads / the eastern part of the M60 / etc... It also seems to have developed a couple of dashboard squeaks and rattles that weren't there before :( I have also noticed that the rear suspension makes some odd noises when you go over speed bumps. I seem to recall a similar (though not quite as pronounced) noise from the standard suspension when new, I guess this is just part of the bedding in process?? Anyone else had similar?

Also, in my excitement and haste whilst at Awesome, I forgot to get them to set the rear shocks to any particular damping level before they were put on - I'm guessing that they can't be altered in situ??? Looks like I'm stuck with whatever they happened to be set to (not necessarily the same at each side  )

Think this will cause major deficiencies?

Stiffer suspension = better handling = rougher ride & the firmer ride will cause anything loose to rattle, probaly stating the obvious but check for loose items in the glove box etc first. Then its case of Silicone spray for squeeks & sticky felt pads for rattles (or turn up the stereo)

If the cars still under warranty & its genuinly loose trim it should be covered under warranty.

Re settings I would guess they come from the factory with some sort of optimum pre set level (KW's do). If not I would trust Awesome with their experience would at least have ensured they were the same & probably set them to a fairly good setting based on their past knowledge. The quick way you can answer that is to ring them & ask. They will also be able to tell you how to adjust them
