Cleaning throttle body

Featured Replies

Just plannig to take it off (without removing plug) and give it a blast with some carb cleaner.

Any need for a new gasket?

Cheers,

iep

if you can get one yes, if not, only if you damage it removing it.

For how much they cost Its worth changing anyway:thumbup:

You'll be lucky to get it off in one piece, so I'd get one if I was you.

It's only £1.50 or something

Bought one last week from the dealers for another member for the princely sum of £2.08p

If you've not got a dealer close by then VW, Seat and Audi dealers will do them too, just ask for a 1.8T throttle gasket I think it's the same gasket for all the engines.

I did this last nite, didnt need to replace the gasket as it came off in perfect condition. Car has done 69k, maby its not the origional tho. Simple 5min job tho , well worth it
