Featured Replies

Hello there i have a fabia vrs got it remap in june was very happy and then had a cambelt change drove it home that day and the pipe blown off 5mins down the road whent back the next day and they put the pipe back on but since then the power has been very poor so whent back and asked them to check the belt they say its fine did not drive well whent back to the the remap place and they said the map had gone had it remap again drove well for 2 days then power loss had it rolling roaded 290 pounds of talk but only 140 bhp it drops off and miss fires been driving about but does not feel great only goes 110mph and smokes very bad and miss fires i really do not no what to do i need some help on whats wrong PLEASE :)

If the boost pipe is secure and it's still running bad, I would question the mapping. Care to name the company?

Also, check all the boost pipes because if one blew and is now secure, there might be another one just hanging on a bit, leaking boost and causing the issues.

hello everyone i have had someone look at the boost pipes and they look on fine

does anyone think that the cambelt change could not be done right as it miss fires a lot it could be any of this

1.cambelt change

2.remap

3.n75

please can someone help

Pressure problems are logged, right? And presumably timing issues would be too? Did the company in question not have a look at the codes when they were investigating the map?

no they just re done the map and sent me on my way but i just dont no why the car tops out at 110 is it getting to hot ?

Can't really help you there...

There's a chance that when they did the cambelt they accidentally retarded or advanced the timing a little, which would affect performance and fuel economy for certain and POSSIBLY boost pressures...

Not sure how to get a definite diagnosis though?

?

I mean this as a compliment but I think there is only one thing retarded here  There is NO WAY it could boost pressures

I was unsure about the boost pressures which is why I said possibly. And why not, anyway? Assuming that the engine map is based on readings from a cam sensor or even a crankshaft sensor, if the relationship between the actual engine position and the position of the sensor changed is it really IMPOSSIBLE that that change could affect the points at which boost is high? :)

I don't think it's a retarded thought process at all ;)

*sigh* FFS, just wait until he gets a fault scan done. There's no real point in trying to guess what's going on...
