Sorry, might have got a bit carried away - apologies if my reply came across a little blunt :)

Seriously though, I hope that helps. You've made a good decision running with a stock VNT17 in there. Once it's mapped accordingly, you will notice a little more lag when it comes on boost as the compressor wheel is larger, but it will be worth it mid-range

As for the Honda reference; that was just for dramatic effect :P - the other side of the scale, so to speak! It also demonstrates a valid point though, that if you're prepared to work the engine, you can still get the performance and work from it, IF you're prepared to rev it. It's just balancing the top level of that equation - in a VTEC you have far less torque, but much more rotational speed at your disposal. The result? Still a decent amount of power

Cheers,

Steve

haha, dont be daft mate, got the point and much appreciated :D

plus an 8250 redline is nice

Im glad you see sense aswell, be like having the best striker in the world on your team, then saying he has to play with his boots tied (sp!?) together. Or what I like to personally call. Fail.

Nice one, are they fitting it for you? I might pull my finger out and fit mine too! Without going too off topic, what are the stats of your car so I get a good idea (if I havnt fitted it) what I might get mate.

Haha or put him as a defender.

Yeah going to his brothers to fit it. Got a bit of a discount :P

What am I looking at there mate? Drop me a PM with this 'discount' please :D Have you had a recent RR? In turn could you get another one soon after fitting the meth kit? What are your stats for your car atm? How much does your smoke?

Nice graph

Steve

How come the dervs at the RR meet were only loosing 10bhp across the gearbox?

Mine pulled 160 at the clutch and 151 at the wheels :S

Either transmission losses are pretty low on VAG diesels, or Awesome have got their compensation values wrong :)

When my Fab hybrid ran, think I came out with 207 at the fly and 195 at the wheels? IIRC...

Steve

Mines probably pulling 95bhp at the wheels now :(

Yeah this was at awesome last month so the stats are 210 at the wheels. I'l try and get back on the rollers after it.

It smokes alot!! Just ask anyone that saw my car at awesome. Oki doki will PM you now

Had mine on awsomes, jabbasports and another local dynojet and they all said I was loosing 10bhp through the box

Ohh look forward to this weekend then if I dont fit mine (wont be able to fit pre-turbo set up yet anyway) let me know how the smoke goes, do you have meth and what mix are you going to be working with? Im going for a 25% meth mix myself.

Yes, an amusing amount of soot at Awesome! And the most amount of it stuck to the bootlid I think I've ever seen

Steve

Might do a 50/50 when I get hold of some. We'll have to compare which set up is best for performance/smoke control.

I think the OP should invest in this great device

Devils own recommend anything up to a 30% mix mate. Ive also heard for max cooling something like 12% is the best bet? Myself and Tom.w on here got one each, so we intend to compare too! However I have the pre-turbo set up like you, so we would be better to compare indeed!

No comment on the OP. Got told off last time :P

This was one of mine a while ago
