Hello, just brought an Octavia 1.8T as a Taxi !!! I own a Private Hire Taxi business and been looking for a replacement car. Found a very nice 03 plate one with 60k one owner and full history. It's fully loaded spec includes electric tilt slide sunroof, 16" alloys, CD changer, climate blah blah...

Anything I should know about common faults etc? Anyone with any pointers would be greatly appriciated. I once owned a Mk4 Golf 1.8T on an S plate when they were brand new so am familular with the engine etc...

Off the top of my head - coil packs, front bushes and the cam belt (it should have been done). I am sure someone with far greater knowledge with come along soon and welcome to Briskoda.

As above cambelt should be done at 4yrs. Also waterpump. Check central locking works and is all in order. Bushes etc.Check the front doesnt creak over bumps etc..
