Induction Kits

Featured Replies

I've got several induction kits knocking about in the garage with cone type filters of various sizes.

I reckon that for similar sized engines the surface area of the filter (including the pleats) is pretty similar and that only the rubber connection tube needs to be different from car to car.

I'm going to see if I can get an appropriate size connection tube made up and try the various 'cones' I've got on the Fabia.

What does anyone else think?

You're close, but you want to look at similarly powered engines using the same fuel, not similar capacity engines, to establish the right flow filter, and main pipe diameter.

Hmm I'll check the intake diameters

I've got a Green Cotton one from my old Clio 16v (same shape as the old Williams), which I think made about 130bhp. I know the fuel is different but it looks to be a similar size to the one K&N sell for the Fabia VRS. They're both oiled cotton so I can't see the flow being much different.

I'll give it a go.
