Driver/Passenger Climatronic Temperature "Synchronisation"

Featured Replies

Hello all,

On my Octy, from IGN, when I adjust the driver temp the passenger temp follows it, unless the passenger temp is adjusted, then they become independent (i.e. passenger temp no longer follows driver temp adjustments), until I turn the car off and back on, then they are "synchronised" again.

I like this feature. However, on my wife's Leon and my MIL's Jetta, the driver/passenger temps are always independent. So it means that there can be a quite significant temperature gradient across the car, e.g. if I last sat in the car as a passenger in cold weather and set it hot, and then a few weeks later the sun is out and my wife winds down the driver temp, it blows cold on the driver side but the passenger temp still chucks out hot air.

Obviously my wife gets round this by controlling both temperature dials, but this is a bit cr*p and I was thinking there is probably a way of configuring the Climatronic system to "synchronise" the temp dials by default? Anyone know how to do this?!

Regards,

Richard.

I'm a bit confused by what you're actually asking about - the Octavia, Leon or Jetta??... don't let my confusion surprise you though, I'm easily confused! :D

In my Octavia II, if they get out of synch by an interfering (or too cold/hot) passenger, I just hold in the AUTO button for a cuppla seconds & they're back in synch.

HTH? :)

The Octy is fine as it is, it's the behaviour of the Leon and Jetta I'd like to change. I wonder if holding the AUTO button for a few secs will activate synchronisation? Basically it's irritating that the driver has to effectively control the car's temperature by using both driver and passenger dials in the Leon and Jetta
