Aye, I've seen a few usernames I recognise lol.

What do you think of the octavias? Any common faults? I know of most of the MK IV golf problems, such as leaking doors and pollen filters etc.,, anything skoda specific?

no real probs with them mate.

the only probs ive had with mine is a blown turbo ( dirving like a loon and running high boost)

and the other prob is the rear drivers door is deadlocked and will not open and is going to cost 200+ to get fixed as the solinoid has failed and the deadlock will not off latch oh bugger lol pain in the **** but does happen..

aslong as you look after them they will run for long time with no real issues

rear boot is a design fault when it rain you lift the boot lid and the water goes in the boot....

solid engine and very underestimated car

have fun on here buddy anything you need help with feel free to buzz me on the pm

Ooh, bad luck with the lock, is that what the dealer want to fix it? Mind, the doors are a pain in the a** to get apart. I had to replace two window mechanisms in the toledo, and can honestly say I wouldn't want to try it again. Having said that, 200 quid would be better in my pocket than in skoda's!!

no thats at an independant that charges very little.. the new motor alone is £100+

then there is about 2 to 3 hours labour aswell lol

its a pig as you cant get the door panel off when the door is closed but you cant open the door as the lock is fecked lol and when you have got the door pannel off you have to smash the crap out of the lock to get the dead lock off..

just one of them lovely saturday jobs lol

Hiya mate and welcome to briskoda :)

sounds like you are pretty clue'd up on MKIV platform, so am sure i couldnt tell you anything you prob dont already know about, and cant think of anything more than whats already been said which is skoda specific....

throttle bodies are know to get cacked up, certain vacuum pipes known to be of problems of course.. but you'll prob be aware of those anyhow ;)

Hi and welcome to the Vrs club.

A great car, very stealthy and guaranteed to bring a smile.

Peter
