collinite

Featured Replies

Just washed and polished my car today, washed then polished with autoglym then put colinite on and what a "bas+++d to get off, could be cos the car was warm as it is a sunny day here but never had this before.

colinite:confused:not heard of this why not autoglym and then autoglym high gloss protection:confused:

I assume this is "Collinite" as in 476 / 915 ?

You can't leave the wax on for longer than about 10 minutes or so before rubbing the excess out. :) I probably leave mine 5 minutes at tops - It doesn't need much time at all.

Less is more with most LSP's, don't put too much on but if your working in direct sunlight you will need to be quick with application and removal...........

Agree with Simon, Collinite is a great, durable LSP but it's not the easiest to use, especially if working outside in the sun.

Super thin layer required & definately only 1 panel at a time.

Yep, super thin coats are the way forward.

Learnt my lesson when i used it on the Fabia and put it on too thick, came off ok, but the paint looked awful in direct sunlight.

Go for the 845 IW, its a paste/custard type wax and, if applied very thin is easy to remove. Also gives wetter finish.

gone and bought autoglym i am happy with it:thumbup:

Less is more :)

so far liking my 915 :)

Just to add my 2p here, you will find that 845 works better on lighter coloured cars than 476 and 915.......

Best applied with a damp sonus or german applicator too as this gives nice thin, even coats. I've used it many a time when the sun has come out but it, or any wax for that matter, shoudn't be used on an already hot surface so get waxing before the sun really gets any heat in it or, if you're lucky unlike me and have a garage, do it inside.

I tend to lay it on top of Carlack 68 NSC which is a sealant, you don't need to take the sealant first either as it'll buff up with the first coat of colli's and then, for best results, stick on two more coats of colli's leaving at least an hour between coats.

Colli's 476S is probably the most durable wax about although it doesn't give the deepest, wettest shine. Of the Colli's range 915 gives the wetness but isn't as durable and I'm afraid that I can't comment on 845 as I've never used it :P

Personally I like Victoria Concours  which can be applied directly by hand although I still find application using a damp applicator better.
