passenger airbag lid - rattle

Featured Replies

I have a rattle between the top glovebox and passenger airbag - is it possible to remove the lid on the airbag - is this better left to the dealer?

John

Yes, the lid can be levered out using plastic tools to avoid making marks in the dashboard. Once you get it loose it will still be attached to the dash with roughly 5cm long nylon straps. The lid is supposed to flip open, and still be connected to the dash in an accident that triggers the airbags.

I have this rattle in my Roomster too, I thought it was the glovebox lid but turns out it is the airbag cover.

Did you fix the rattle easily?

Anyone else had this niggle?

I have had mine back twice to dealers and still it rattles. The second time they put new glove box door on.

I even said that it was not the glovebox door.:(

All,

Just to keep you updated - took it to a dealer in Glasgow and they fitted some special tape around the seal between the airbag lid and the dashboard - this finally fixed the issue

Seems to be plastic rubbing on plastic
