Quick Advice Needed for Detail Today

Featured Replies

All,

Need some quick advice before I start detailing the car after lunchtime.

I'm going to detail the .:R for tomorrow's show and shine at Awesome GTI but its my first time at one of these events. The black magic paintwork is in good condition with very minor swirls in strong sunlight. The flake still pops in the sun too.

I have a choice of three pads to use (cutting, medium, soft), Megs Scratch X, AG Ultra Deep Shine, Zymol HD Clense, and AG HD Wax.

I was planning on washing the car (obviously :P), claying it, then using a medium pad and applying two coats of AG Ultra Deep Shine on all the panels. I love this stuff as it doesn't really cut into the paint but gives it a very nice finish.

The plan was then to protect it with two coats of AG HD Wax using the spit shine method, then that could be the detail over.

My question is, is it worth me using the Zymol HD Clense before or after applying the AG Ultra Deep Shine, using a soft finishing pad perhaps?

Any help is appreciated

HD Cleanse, followed by the High Def wax should see you well...both by hand too!

Well I ended up applying a single coat of AG Ultra Deep Shine with a medium pad. It didn't remove all the swirls but managed to hide most of them which is what I wanted. I then put on two coats of AG HD Wax to give it that extra protection and the car looks great!

If I had more time I would have removed all the marks with a cutting compound first but the car is too new to be cutting into the paint IMO.

No sorry :(

Left camera in Telford and weather isn't too good either. A few people saw the car at Awesome yesterday though.
