Cam belt change fabia vrs

Featured Replies

Please can somebody put me straight. Just bought a Fabia VRS 54 plate 52k miles on. The cam belt hasn,t been changed, Have heared loads of conflicting stories of when this should be done. 60k 70k 100k miles. I know some have been changed at 32k. Telephoned my local skoda dealer ( Derek Slack of Middlesbrough ) and there have advised 4 years or 60k which ever comes first. £320 to do it

Having just spent all my money on the car do you think its something i should get done straight away.

I have booked it in for a sevice and a good check over £155 would you advise to get the cam belt done instead.

Does the cam belt work include something I would get done on the service ie oil filter change.

Cheers

It is 4 years or 60k whichever comes first.

The Water pump is a reccomended change also, i just had mines done but was included as part of my deal on buying the car.

I'd advise change it when it's due tbh mate
