Farewell Mean Black Machine

Featured Replies

32,000 miles in a Black vRS absolutely trouble free - incredible reliability and fantastic fun to drive. I needed something a bit bigger for my guitars and gear so now have a Fabia 3 Estate - 1.9TDi.

Strangley the 3 doesn't feel as refined on the motorway as the vRS and the engine is a lot rougher sounding through the gears - hopefully that will quieten down as it's run in. It also has the stutter apparent too but that was never an issue anyway.

Ideally I'd like a vRS Estate but there's no chance of that!

Thanks Bennett - very nice car you've got there.

lol its not mine. Its for Sale. Is tidy though.

I found the same thing when I went from a mk1 Elegance to my vRS.. Completely different animals on the motorway, Elegance used to be quite skittish at, um.... overtaking speeds ;)

Perhaps a suspension upgrade would help?
