can i replace the interior?

Featured Replies

hi folks i have a 2002 octavia tdi elegance,, lovley car apart from the interior which i would like to replace with leather,, i have seen several volkswagen interiors on ebay but im not sure which are best suited?? all opinions or pictures of cars that other people have replaced the interior wouldbe appreciated

cheers folks Brien:thumbup:

I had a Mk4 Golf GTI interior fitted in the past. It took about half an hour and was very easy to do.

Obvious thought is of an Octy L&K interior, but I've seen one of those, and it looks like an Elegance interior with leather stretched over the plastics.

MK1 Octavia (obviously)

MK4 Golf

Audi A3 (MK1)

Will all fit, but only the door cards out of an Octavia will fit (the saloon and estate rear door cards are also different)

cheers guy, matt the pics of the r32 seats in the thread look great,, expensive im sure but might be worth the extra,,

I can't comment on what the r32 seats are like, I can only imagine how supportive and comfy they are. In my opinion if your just after an little upgrade to your standard seats, you can't go wrong with the GTI seats, they have softish foam but firmer & more boulstered than OEM, next level up are the Recaro's which have a harder foam and much more supportive. I had both of these, I'm quite short and found the Recaro's the comfiest however my wife is taller than me and she found them difficult to get comfy in as she couldn't slide them back far enough due to having children in the back seats.

:agree:

The Golf Mk4 GT TDi are the same. If you go for a 2001+ they also have lumbar support which a lot of the earlier ones dont have

hi westallc , im looking at is an a3 s line,, is this the same as you have ,, do oyu have any pics of yur car and interior,, im trying to get ideas to slightly modify my car, thanks mate

The seats from any Mk 4 platform should fit but apart from the Octy L&Kthe door cards wont so be sure to choose a leather that matches or is close to your door cards. The L&K Leather steering wheel also makes a nice addition

The R32 seat make a massive difference. Personally I think they are fantastic. They give you support in all the right areas and hold you in the seat when you are pressing on a bit. They are heated too so not too cold in the winter. I havent had any problems in the summer sun either but I also have tinted windows which help reduce the heat.

I do a regular trip to London and back in the same day and they are perfect for doing the mileage. My old VRS seats were good but did hurt my lower back and shoulders after a couple of days on the road. The R32 seats are a big improvement in comfort and support.

The only down side is they do take up a lot of room and if you need to fit a child seat you cant always put the seat as far back as you want. But I am 6ft 2" so its not that much of a problem if you are shorter.

If you can stretch your budget its a no brainer. Only problem is finding a decent set.

Good luck. Which every seats you decide on.
