Confused.com quotes for remaps - help please

Featured Replies

I'm currently insured with More Than, who have told me tonight they won't insure remaps, so I had a look on confused.com (Haven't tried 'Simples' yet).

When you come to the modifications page, there are various options for engines, namely :-

Engine - other alterations

Engine chip - 0 - 10% inc BHP

Engine chip - 11 - 25% inc BHP

Engine chip - 26+% BHP

Blueprinting is also mentioned

Can anyone help as to what a remap is actually classed as ? It's obviously not a chip, but is it classified as the same for quote purposes ?

Putting in an engine chip of 26+% came out with a £250 total excess with RAC for £304, which I thought was pretty reasonable

Thanks in advance

Yes chip, remap, whatever they class it as, philistines.

Oh and its never more than a 10% increase. ;)

I used Go Compare but ended up with Adrian Flux who were more competitive & covered all my mods (Bluefin and suspension).
