:eek:James, Guy and Sanjib are recreating the original Beer Run, Smokey and the Bandit, with a twist: London-Stelvio-London in 27 hours for some fresh Stelvio beer, all in the name of charity and delivered for Saturday night (15th August 2009).

That's about 1,600 miles in 27 hours driving round trip to that iconic stretch of hair pins and switchbacks in the

Italian Alps. The various online route providers reckon it's 13.5 hours each way but that doesn't include petrol or rest stops or wait time at the crossing. Smokey and the Bandit was 28 hours, we've figured because we don't have a truck in tow, we can do it in 27 hours.

It's all in aid of the charity for whom my wife and I will be volunteering in Tanzania: Forever Angels : Amy's Diary.

The journey is entirely self funded and every penny donated will go direct to the charity which we'll see in action when we get out there in December.

The Forever Angels Baby Home is in need of transport to ferry the babies from the home to hospital and other places - it would be great

to contribute towards that!

So please dig deep, donate what you can and invite your friends to help us raise as much as possible for this worthy charity.
