Event tyres

Has anyone used Event Tyres mobile fitters?

I was going to get Hankooks from Camskill and get them fitted at my local garage but Camskills have NO STOCK :weeping:

So now I'm looking at Kumho KU31s and Event comes out at only £6 more for the whole package.

This extra £6 saves me the hassle of getting to a depot to pick the tyres up as inevitably I won't be in when they're delivered, and then I don't have to go to the garage and hang around while they're fitted, so seems like a good deal. Except no Hankooks :weeping::weeping::weeping:

So what are everyone else's thoughts? Ta

Have used both their mobile fitting service and the fitting centre at Old Trafford...very good service, especially considering the price. I don't go anywhere else for my tyres now if I can avoid it...

Rob.

Think there are some reviews if you do a search?

I've used them and couldnt fault their service and price.

Event Tyres did my 2 rear Kumhos for something like £180 for the pair, fitted on my drive (in a blizzard this February I may add :rofl:). They were able to come round early evening when I was home from work and the whole fitting & balancing took just over 30 minutes for 2 tyres.

I would have used them again in July for my fronts but was desperate to try the Hankooks and they didn't stock them so went down the Camskill route. Camskill will deliver the tyres to whichever garage you have the car booked into for no extra charge, might be worth trying that when they have some Hankooks back in stock

I'm also going to badger Event Tyres about Hankooks, if enough people do that they might start stocking them :)

Problem is I've got to do it this weekend as I've got no other weekend free before me hols. I really wanted the Hankooks as well :(

Oh well Kumho's are supposed to be good so I'll try them instead

UPDATE: Just ordered the Kumho's for Saturday fitting  £316 for 4, fully fitted balanced etc. We'll see how it goes :)

Aaaaghhhhh, Camskill now have the Hankooks but won't be able to deliver them in time for Saturday :banghead:

BTW chicken_eyebrow. When I asked my garage if I could get the tyres delivered to him he said no because he'd have to pay the VAT, or some other excuse.

I couldn't persuade him by giving him the fitting work. Thought it was a bit weird though

Yeah thats a bit odd!

When I did it I phoned my local garage and said can I book my car in to have 2 tyres fitted on Friday and by the way is it ok for them to deliver the tyres to you and they said yes.

Then on Camskill it has an option to put in an alternative address for delivery so I just put the garage in there and asked for the package to be marked with my name.

Not sure what they're on about re. the VAT!? Sounds like they can't be bothered to fit the tyres and make £30-40 out of it :(

Complete rubbish about the VAT!

How are they liable exactly, for something that you've bought and already paid the VAT on? :rubchin:

As above, sounds like they just didn't want the work....

That's exactly what I thought. Sounds daft. All he's doing is taking delivery of something I've already bought so how is he liable for anything?

Anyway, he didn't get the work and Event did. Hope those Kumhos work :D

I used Event Tyres and was very impressed that the tyre fitter used an inflatable air bag under the sills instead of a trolley jack thereby causing no damage to the said sills.

Have used Event many times. tried to save money elsewhere, but always come back to them. They must have fitted 19 of the last 23 tyres I've bought... :)
