Looking to colour code all the silver trim in my VRS but was wondering how in God's name to remove it so I can drop it into the sprayer along with the from grill and MFD3 surround..........

Any ideas?

For the door ones I think you have to take the door card out and melt plastic rivets from the rear. Could be wrong.

I can confirm this. In theory not that difficult to cut off the melted ends of the pegs (inside door card) so you can remove the trim piece. My fear would be that there wouldn't be enough remaining to melt again when it comes to re-fixing. Also, if it goes wrong, I doubt those trim strips are available to buy separately, so it's a bit of a gamble.

If that hasn't put you off though, all the other silver trim pieces just pull out! I guess you could remove the door cards and mask very carefully if you dont want to start pulling bits off.

Hmm, I think I could just bond them back on again if the pegs ended up unusable.

Double sided sticky tape? If it works for a boot lip spoiler...

Sounds good to me. Defo painting the centre console trim before the Columbus goes in as the screen has a gloos black surround anyway.

Wardth how did it end up with the door trim (and the trim on the dashboard), was thinking about doing this my self, as i cant stand the boring silver color..

Isn't the centre console fascia for the Columbus Silver in the first place?

you can get in both black and silver.. mine´s black..

Just to let you guys know I'm still awaiting delivery of the Columbus from Lithuania and the fascia is on back order from the factory. As regards the colour - yes ATTY it does come as silver but the whole point is to have it colour coded Black Magic before it gets fitted. I could have bougfht a black one but it would still have to have been painted and >i think< the black ones are textured although I could be wrong but wasn't prepared to take the chance so went for silver and will have it resprayed..........along with the spare chrome grill
