Fabia ABS pump part number question

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm new here, I did a search but couldn't find an answer, sorry if this has been answered elswhere.

The pump or modulator of the abs on my 2002 fabia seems to have packed up, it's causing the pump to run even when the engine is off. The part number I have for it is 6Q0 614417e (this is stamped on the pump)

Now I've found a replacement pump on eBay however it is a 6Q0614417L what I wanted to ask is if anyone knows if the letter at the end of the part number has significant relevance or if it's just a minor revision and I would be able to swap out the pump?

Thanks in advance for taking the time to help.

Unfortunately, I'm not at home to check my Haynes, but there are two types: One for regular ABS and one for ESP. I suspect, however, that as long as the long numbers are the same, you'll be OK, as the letters should just refer to any design updates. A case-in-point is the rear cluster I had to replace recently, which was 6Y6945112D. The replacement that came was 6Y6945112C, although aside from a slight difference in colour (which is more likely down to the effects of five years' UV on the old one) there are no differences I can see - certainly nothing functional...

HTH :)
