Clicking on acceleration?

Featured Replies

Hi! :D

(2000) Fabia 1.4 16V

Ok, so yesterday when I bought the car, didnt notice it.

Have been dirivng around today, and I can hear a sort of whirring/clicking noise coming from behind the dash, nearer to the engine maybe??

It seems to occur more when I am accelerating.

It seems to come and go, but I've been out in the car 3 times today and I've had it on each journey.

Can anyone tell me what this problem might be / if it can be fixed / how much it might cost?

Many thanks!

Jemma

Probably throttle body motor working, or EGR valve pulsing. Could be one of a dozen things really.

Ok, LOL, dont know what either of those things are! :D Are either of them bad?!

;)

Try and notice when it's occurring. For example, is it when the engine's cold, when you're turning, etc. Or is it a regular ticking or is it related to the speed of the engine or the car?

That might help more.

It could be as simple as a heater flap.

Get the codes read, they might reveal something.

They click and clunk all time, with nothing to worry about :)

It only occurs on acceleration, in any gear, at anytime, randomly!

LOL, my bf heard it today and said i should stop being so paranoid...so im gonna try that. the consensus seems to be not to worry...

however, its having a service end of the month so will mention it in passing.
