T-mobile customers about to be done over?

Featured Replies

I feel done over anyway, a lack of network coverage is a killer!

I live within a mile of a mast, and i cant get a ruddy signal from my house!

Yeah, it's been a roumour round the industry for a while about them pulling out of the UK. I am forced to use T mobile through work and it's worse than useless so I can't think of a better thing to happen. It's unsure how it will effect virtual networks such as Virgin and Talk Mobile

No problems with t-mobile where I live, its been my network of choice for 2 years now. Great customer service when I have needed to call them, and on a sunday afternoon as well.

The pull out need not be bad though, it could help those with poor coverage as the company taking over might want to invest to improve coverage in weak areas, or even allow roaming onto their own networks to get over the problem.

I am about 9 months into my second 18 month contract with them and have found them very good actually.

Coverage is everywhere in York and hardly even find anywhere without a 3G signal and the only time I do loose signal anywhere other people on different networks also loose signal so not specific to T-Mobile.

Could be good or bad... will have to wait and see...

Vodafone have been losing market share for years now so I'd say they'll pursue this aggressively

Described on the TV this morning as "Britain's largest mobile company" except of course its half owned by France Telco and half owned by Deutch Telco

Heard this on the news today too.

If it comes about that I can worm out of my contract I will... just to then sign up again if I can get the same/as good deal then sell my current phone.

Might bring some benefits. Certainly will in the form of improved coverage.

Maybe it should have been 'the largest mobile telephone company operating in Britain' ? ;)

Nothing will change for the first 18 months, and then the merger will happen slowly. It remains to be seen if it's bad or good.

Deutsch Telekom have never been happy with the profit margin that T-Mobile make in the UK -the market's much more competitive here.

*I can say this as my partner is German and get on very well with all his German family who would also find that funny so step off the high horse ;)

So.... now customers will get patchy coverage and they will **** up your bill

Well, I left Orange for their crap customer service, attitude and poor packages. T-mobile has been the next choice by many ditching Orange for these same reasons.

Quite possibly. However if they keep the Tmob call centres you will need to learn Merthyr Welsh which is even worse.

I've always have friendly Scots

Still beats some Orange Twonk on around 8pm one night when I lost all my services, so used SWMBO's handset to call them. Gangsta boy simply said "That's a pitty isnt it?" before hanging up.

Moron didnt know I had the exec office details :P

Me too. Years ago, but Vodafone seem to be heading that way, given recent experience.

That's required for Voda these days .

It irks me when firms farm our jobs abroad, YET continue to sell us services at a premium.

I know O2 are spanish owned but the spaniards would have a fit if somebody non spanish answered their service calls. This appears to have been applied for the UK market too so UK call centres are all I've ever had.

Good point as I am with virgin mobile and know they use the T Mobile network so not sure what will happen here.
