VMWare ESXi3.5

Featured Replies

I've installed ESXi3.5 at home on a quad core pc with an adaptec 2410sa controller. As this is just a PC (in reallity) how can I monitor if a disk fails within ESX?

I can see the controller but can't see anymore than that, other than that it's performing brilliantly. I'm just not sure if I'm able to monitor the disk's through ESX or if I will need something like a dedicated server with HDD lights to indicate a failed disk, I've installed the Adaptec Storage Manager into a Virtual Server can I allow that VM to attach to the adaptec card?(thinking about a dl380 g4 or ml370g4, so far i'm swaying towards the ml370 due to it accepting 16gb ram)
