Right, here's the thing.....

Machined polished the car today for the first time and I'm pretty pleased with the results but feel I could do better. I did the usual clean and wash surface clean process, ie snow foam, wash and clay etc, dryed the surface with a drying cloth

I then used my Kestrel polisher with a red 5mm finishing pad and Menz polish I had the machine at level 6. Once each panel was nice and misty, I manualy buffed up with a deap pile polishing cloth. I then rinsed the car down to remove the dust, dryed with another drying cloth.

Next I used Megs gold class wax applied manualy with an application pad and left it for roughly 30 mins. Finally I removed the wax with a Wax removal bonnet over a clean finishing pad with the Kestrel on level 3. All nice and shinny and was chuffed as a nice surface scratch on the left side had gone.

I do have Collinite 915 wax, but just wanted a quick wax job today, or I would have left the Colli for 1 hour.

Now, I have seen other folks using other products after the final waxing and wonder what is best to get the extra shine...............

All advice, opinions etc welcome. Cheers folks!!

Zaino Z8 offers a very nice Extra finish, and also offers a little protection on top, however the best finishes come from good prep.

Ah haaa!! A reply :)

Heard a lot ref this Zanio stuff, will give it a try thanks

I would have used a sealant after you'd rinsed and dried the car after the polish stage. I also tend to do the car once with Menz Intensive Polish, then again with Final Polish II.

I'm in the habit of letting waxes cure, perhaps a day between coats if possible, and apply three coats. I would have applied 915 first as it's probably more durable than Meg's Gold Class. So 2x 915 coats, then finish with Gold Class wax. Personally I tend to apply 2x 476 then either a finishing coat of Blackfire Midnight Sun, or Victoria Concourse

You'll probably ask what sealant to use; Jeff's Prime or Klasse All-in-One would be my two favoured products

Hmmm, Elite Car Care here I come................:D

I usually put a sealant on first (2 coates of Jetseal) and then use DoDo Juice Blue Velvet (it's for dark colours but DoDo do a range of different coloured waxes) and that gives a nice shine with plenty of depth.
