AUX for Stream 2006 (no mp3) ???

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

hope someone will help me as I think my problem is not so rare.

I've got an Stream CD only radio year 2006 in my Octavia 2.

Model of the radio is 1z0 035 161 B. Made in Portugal by Visteon.

PD 0306 HW 0013 SW 0026.

I'd like to install AUX connection. I can turn this function ON/OFF in the menu. I did read somewhere, that this radio doesn't support AUX even if I can turn this facility ON/OFF.

I provide the image of the radio connection diagram.

Question is, if I can use the original skoda AUX cable 5J0 035 475 ? Has anyone installed this successfully or is experienced? Any other solutions or ideas?

Thank you for every answer.

You can't.

The menu lets you select it but there is nowhere to connect to on the back of the stereo

So I am the "lucky one" with completely useless radio. I don't want to change it too much as it works with MaxiDOT and bluetooth. My god, I should buy some case for CD's then ...

Is there any chance to obtain an USB input to Stream CD radio?

Don't know if this is any use but you could have a look at this on Evil Bay: item 190323299402 .

Thank you for the link, but this convertor adds an AUX input only. I am looking for a USB-to-Stream converter. It is very convenient to playback the music from a hidden and cheap USB flash drive.

There is group buy going on right now over in the Group Buys forum for Dension 100/300 units which will do exactly that. They're CD changer emulators effectively, so it should be irrelevant whether you have an AUX connection already. I think he's purchasing tomorrow though, so you'll have to act quickly to get in on it!!

Problem with these is that you only see Track 1, Track 2 but no MP3-titles and artists, if I am not mistaken.

[Edit]Take everything back, just looked at Sharks screenshots.... [/Edit]

Why dont you get yourself a Stream MP3 instead? Should be readily available on ebay....

No, there is full ID3 information displayed on the Maxidot with the Dension units

What will happen if I don't have a Maxidot? Can Dension unit use the Stream display for ID3 information?

Thanks for the idea, but I hate using CDs in car! I have uploaded all my favourite music on 8Gb flash drive, just need an USB interface to plug it in... and to forget the source.

No, unfortunately the Stream unit isn't capable of displaying text from external sources.

Important to not though that the Dension unit replaces your multi changer if you have one.

...but there is a CD changer retention cable (splitter type thing) to allow you to connect both. Price starts to add up though with that and ipod docks etc. To be honest though, if you've connected an 80GB ipod, 160GB hard drive etc, I can't see that you'd miss your CD changer much.
