Hi just picked up Octavia 1.6 2001, like it a lot:-)

But I can't get the back doors open from the inside.

I've turned the little child lock thingys but no joy.

What am I doing wrong?

This is a real annoyance to back seat passengers help would be appreciated

Mines dun the same thing....

Any help off anyone would be appreciated...

It seems odd on both rear doors. It could be that the cables have snapped or that they have become detached from the levers. The cables have a habit of doing this when re-fitting the door trim panel.

cables become stretched on rear door handles?

Pull the handle if you look at back of handle you should see a little block try n get some wire nosed pliers on cable n give it a tug & see if door opens but dont let go off the cable or else block will dissappear into the door and then its door card off job to find it and reconnect it.

Also dont move the block to far forward or else doors wont open from inside either (not that its a problem as you will just need to lever the block back a bit)

Dealer fixed it said that rods had been or come disonected?? Anyway they work now.
