Octavia Speakers, more info required.

I've bought some Sony two way speakers to fit in the front doors which hopefully will be an easy fit in the morning.

So my first question regards the standard front tweeters, whats the done thing, leave them connected or not?

I have already disconnected the rear tweeters so they are not playing directly into my ear when sat in the drivers seat.

So once I've sorted this my next job will be to replace the rears, I'm not planning on an amp so should I go with upgrading the standard 13cm rear speakers or will the standard shelf be upto holding some 6X9's?

Does upgrading the standard 13cm rears make a lot of difference?

Cheers

are you sure you will get the OEM speaker grills back on with a two way system upfront?

id dissconnect the OEM tweeters

with no amp repalcing the rear 13cm speakers will make a slight diffrence, however if you put in some 6x9 the OEM shelf will support them, they will give you plenty of volume and vastly increase the bass, not sure the OEM HU would really be up to running a set of 6x9's, also with 6x9 if you have plans on adding a sub and amp later 6x9 and subs dont mix...

The two way speakers are Sony Custom fit, the tweeter is mounted flush with the front of the speaker so should be OK to fit the standard grills.

The standard output of the Symphonony HU is 4X17W DIN so may be a bit of a waste getting 6X9's do you think?

If not for the price it will cost to change the rears for decent 13cm units I might give it a try.

Any more experienced comments welcomed.

with out upgrading the HU yes you'd be watseing time and money, can pick up 13cm for aourn 30-40 quid it aint going to hurt and simple to do..

i fitted 6x9's in the shelf and recovered it. It was pretty useless with the standard HU, however, when i installed my spare sony 4x40w HU, that sounded good through the replacement speakers without an amp. However, i've now installed a dension mp3 HU, with a 4 channel JBL amp, and the difference is staggerring. I picked the jbl up for
