I would second shorty's view, get on the DVLA web site there are loads of VRS plates on there, mine was the same format, 'letter 3 No's then VRS' and only

Be very careful with ebay reg. purchases. You can get into all sorts of problems (as a friend did) with retention certificates, wrecked cars etc. Unless you are desperate stick with the dvla - very well organised and efficient.
