Hi All,

After 24 years of driving 9 Toyotas I've turned my back on the Japanese and just bought a year-old Octavia Elegance 1.9 TDI. Picking it up next week - and very excited about too. I do around 24000 miles pa hence the diesel. Is there anything you wise ones think I should be looking out for at this early stage?

Welcome...you'll love the car....you didn't say wether it was a hatch or estate, so if you have the hatch watch for water running off the boot lid and into the car when you open it in the rain....the estate doesn't have this problem but you will soon get used to it ....as in open...lift a foot...pause for 2 seconds to let the water run in the drain channels and then lift all the way open.

And as already mentioned lots of toys, also easily mapped, up to 160 bhp I believe and around 50 mpg on a run about 40 around town
