Another noise cure?

Featured Replies

I don't know if this has been covered before but thought I'd report an easy cure for an annoying click/rattle - variable but mostly at lower speeds and bumpier roads, nothing at faster speed.

I thought first it was coming from rear nearside seatbelt buckle, or the grab handle, or even the headrest pillars and catch, but finally got a hunch that the rear seat folding catch might be involved. I released the seat back and puffed a good dose of WD-40 into the now exposed catch area and also down the operating knob set in the top of the seat. Wiped off the surplus, and found that 90% of the noise had gone. Did the driver's side rear catch the same and that cleared up all the noise.

Hope that helps anyone having a similar minor irritation!

No! That's a job for duct tape or super glue.

No, you can still use WD-40 but, instead of spraying it, you shove the end of the can in their pretty little gob!
