For all you guys with coilovers

Featured Replies

Well ive been looking around as im seriously thinking of getting coilovers and winding them all the way down, the only problem was the sump smashing itself into peices

Found this:

PSI Tuning> Main Section > Golf > Golf Mk4 1998-2004 > Engine > 1.8t shallow sump

according to PSI Tuning

Yes the shallow sump should fit your Fabia VRS, however if your vehicle has a level sensor this would have to be turned off.
What does everyone think?? it should give an extra 1.5"of clearence

I find it hard to believe that the 1.8T and the 1.9 TDI share the same sump...

You and me both. I might have a look at my haynes book tonight.

I've had a quick glance at the two when on ramps in the past, they do look visually the same..

would it be a straight bolt on job?

Looks like it may need a small relief to clear the aircon compressor. And the turbo return pipe hole need's drilling and tapping.

I will update when i fit mine. It's going on a 9N polo TDI, so same as the Fabia pretty much

Yep:thumbup:, Don't post on here much though.

Many plans for the VRS?

Pfft - the 1.8T sump isn't that deep! You should see the VR6 one

so just a straight bolt on replacement then, in the end no need to drill and tap anything?

I found this a while ago after cracking my sump, so i emailed them and they said

"Yes, the one which we can supply will fit the fabia VRS, a few slight

modifications will need to be made first of all. The oil pick up angled

slightly, and also the oil feed pipe shortened. This sump doesnt have the

cut out for the level sensor"
