Clutch change Felicia 1.6

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I need to replace the clutch on my Felicia 1.6 (1998). Just wondered if anyone knows how cheap I can get this done. I've been quoted £200-£300. Any one out there had experience of getting the clutch done for less?

You might get it done for a bit less, but will it be done properly? The only people I've known have clutches done cheap have been done by people who rely on the inner CVs having lots of flexibility in them (thereby removing the work of removing the driveshafts), and have then killed the inner CVs (not on a Fel, but happened on a couple of Fords). For the sake of £50 I'd rather it was done decently. Actually, I'd do it myself, but I'm tight and able.

the net cost of the acutal clutch kits ranges from approx £50 - £90 depending on what make you get. i'd say a conservative estimate is approx 3.5 hours of labour, plus 2.5 litres of gear oil
