Featured Replies

hello all just a quick question and some advice if any 1 could help

ave always looked afters my cars was polish them on regualr intervils but now ave got a decent car (fab vrs silver) a want to do abit more

what would a good starting kit consist of and how much would 1 have to spend

(as at the min i use the stuff at work the bonus of bying a painter)

altho havent done the vrs yet on our astra

we used alot of auto smart and concept items and farecla coumpounds (g3 total,g10 and for glaze 3m) these are the only products 1 have used

if i started from scratch would £100-150 be ok to build a good kit ??

thanks to all that read this and have sugestions

Going to cost a little bit more than that if you go the full hog :D

Popular choices are either the Kestrel DAS-6 or Megs G220 DA

I just use AG SRP by DA to remove very light swirls and fill the rest. I top it off with either Megs NXT2.0 Tech Wax or Gold Class from Megs.

Baker21 is our resident detailing guru, and he has dome a few Skodas and made a cracking job of them into the bargain. Pretty sure he will tell you the best products for VAG paint.

Another combo I like are AG SRP with AG EGP as the LSP

Sounds like you have a few quid to spend so the key question is are you looking to get the paintwork back to better than showroom condition and then protect it or are you looking to just get the paintwork looking nice from distance?

If your looking to complete paintwork correction and purchase a machine then the Kestrel DA kit seems to be a popular choice but the better polishes for VAG, in my opinion, are Megs 105 and 205.......

Alternatively Moggy's AG SRP has great results for the cheaper option which will allow you to spend more money on LSP's and other items to make the car look how it should...........:D

Might I reccomend Elite Car Care for your purchasing needs, very good service. (If you put DW in the discount code, saves a few quid ;) Thanks Baker21 for that little tip..) http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk/

Well I did run a GB not to long ago offering a complete washing kit to allow you to wash and protect your car safely:

http://briskoda.net/group-buys-promotions/baker21-detailing-kit-gb-begins/136474/

This kit is still available and PM me to further details. You can add whatever you want onto the kit whether it be wheel cleaner or interior cleaner, etc and it will just get delivered with the kit.

If you looking to go a little bit further then it would be worth investing in some clay and a decent wax to get a good surface to start with and then if you still aren't happy with the results you would need to either invest in a machine or get a pro to do it for you and there are pleny of those on DW......

Will drop you a PM........:D
