First MOT in November

Featured Replies

My car is three years old in november AAAHHHHH bless cant belive ive had it six months  should go straight through the MOT shouldn't it?? everything seems fine all lights work tiers ok etc

or are there any gremlins i might not know about on a car this old?

Joel

Should pass no problem... :D

Rob.

they will fail it for the PSSSSHHHHHHTTTT :D

Might be worth getting it done a month before your warranty runs out.

brakes - discs and/or pads on front..........

the usual suspects I suppose, though tbh, apart from the brakes and a change of plugs at last service, my Octavia is still totally factory spec at 46K and 4 years old.

front disk and pads were done when i brought it they said 'we will do front and back' then when i picked it up they had only done the front the dealer said 'the back didnt need doing' i let it slide that they said they were going to do both sooo if they pull it up on the rear disk in the MOT i will screw at them ive only done about 3k in it since then...

Defo get the mot done 1 month before the warranty runs out, and if it fails take it to the dealer and get them to fix any faults they can under warranty.

Another tip, take the V5 reg document with you and they will post date the MOT to the date the car was registered. Meaning it wont need another for 13 months.

My wifes 1.6LX Octy recently saled through its second MOT without needing anything done (as was the case last year). In N.Ireland the first MOT is at 4 years old not 3, but is a much harder government administered test (ie not done in private garages). So unless you have not looked after your car it should be fine at 3 years old.
