Lowering my Octavia

Featured Replies

I have an order placed for a new VRS which should hopefully be with me early November

Now a lot of pictures have been published of the FL VRS and quite a few seem to show the car is riding a tad high.

Just wondering whether I should accept the car as standard and see how it handles/looks then maybe get some Eibach springs which lower by approx 30-40mm or

Ask the dealer to fit the approved lowering springs which are also Eibach at the PDI which lower by 20mm.

I still want the ride to be comfortable and not rock solid so thinking 20mm may be better in this respect plus it will avoid the initial 4x4 look on delivery :D

What would you do?

What would you do?

I'd stick some good coilovers on it.

Limited budget to begin with I'm afraid, that may come later :D

I'm sure I read that the suspension has been lowered slightly on the FL vRS. Mine (CR but pre-FL) is firm but acceptable, and I wouldn't want it any firmer.

What it feels like is going to be more important to you than what it looks like - so try it out.

Eibachs are a good compromise between handling and comfort at an affordable price, I'm not sure if you can use the springs from a pre facelift on the facelift cars though.

Thats true I'm not sure either. Can anyone confirm whether the springs are different between pre FL and FL VRS?

Wega - you'd stick coilovers on a horse if you could!!:D

my order is going in this week - i've included the accessory (eibach) springs..

Air-ride! Gangsta!

Good compromise between cost / performance.

Cost no object and all that, I wonder if the trick magneto helio-dynamic struts from Audi / VW would fit.........now theres a thought.......:-)

I take it must mean they fit both pre FL and FL cars then, nice might give the dealer a bell the morn to get them added.
