2.0 TFSi Charcoal Canister

Featured Replies

Can anyone please tell me exactly what the Charcoal Canister on a 2.0 TFSi actually does?

I can't seem to find the point of it and i asked a Skoda Mechanic the other day who couldn't tell me either the response i got was "not exactly sure what it does i just know it's needed"

But if the cars in the US don't have that can then why is it needed here:confused:

Will i cause a drama if i remove it?

I believe its something to do with fuel vapour and I think your car will fail its MOT without it.

the fuel tank is vented through the canister to clean the gases , I'm fairly sure that if you remove it the tank vent valve will know the system is open to the atmosphere,
