A vRS Question

Featured Replies

Hello, i am going to look at a fabia vrs tomorrow, and was just wondering what i should look out for/ listen for etc. Thanks Glenn

Good service history is a good start

Hi Glenn,

What age is the Vrs you're going to look at? If its a 55 plate or older then the cambelt will need changing soon or should have been done as it needs changing every 4 years or 60,000 miles.

As said full service history, preferably Skoda dealer or good indy so you know the right oil has been used.

I've heard stories of the back doors leaking so check that the seals are ok.

Otherwise, just usual things like any other car, tyres, brakes, suspension.

Hope this helps and good luck:thumbup:

Thanks Stan, i wil check all that. The car is a 2004 04 reg.

Like any car, Switch everything on and confirm it works. Esp the AC and ventilation.

And two keys!

All the best hope you find a good one:thumbup:

Well the cambelt should have been done early 2008 then, some people think it should done on mileage but its definitely 4 years or 60,000 miles, whichever is sooner. If theres no evidence that its been done then you could always get it done just to be on the safe side, be looking at £350 from an indy.

Let us know how it goes:thumbup:

Cheers Glenn

Honest John is a good place for general info here

And if you can persuade the seller to let you know the V5 number or the last MOT test certifcate number you can check out the MOT history (including all fails and advisories) on VOSA here

Happy buying:thumbup:
