Just out of interest, can we not get photo's to appear in posts? I've tried every host site, and every link, but alas, it always comes up as a link in the post!! I love the way posts look with photo's in them!

Is this just a way to conserve memory and web space etc?

I upload mine to Photobucket and have no problem.

Hover your cursor over the picture when uploaded and right click on the bottom link and paste it into your post. Should be as simple as that.

Yup, photobucket works for me too.

Are you using the ‘insert image’ on Brisky and ‘Direct link’ for the host site? If you are and it’s not working, perhaps you are getting a double ‘http’

Hello,

I suggest that you use 'Photobucket' or 'Tinypic.com'.

The idea being that you copy and paste the whole line so from . It's important that it has these tags.

Tinypic also allows for you place a link:

Image - TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting

Hmm, and you're inserting the image address in between IMG tags?

Should look like this when you put it into the post you want to make:

(just take out the * in your example, that was only to get the tags to appear in plain text!)

Edit Options

Thread Display Options

Visible Post Elements

Show Images (check the tick box)

You can wrap tags (or any other text you don't want parsed) in [NOPARSE] [NOPARSE] [/NOPARSE] [/NOPARSE] tags to get 'em to show.

Typing:

[NOPARSE][NOPARSE] [/NOPARSE][/NOPARSE]

...shows:

[NOPARSE] [/NOPARSE]

Simples!

I was typing that last night knowing there was some way of getting them to not process, but there we go! There's another way, apart from NOPARSE too, but I think we'll leave it there :coder: :P

Me? ...umm yes! You even gave me a credit in the edit you made ...but ignored the bit re NOPARSE tags & used CODE tags instead!

I think so yeah! I honestly can't understand it, in a million other forums I can post my link and the image appears like magic in my post. On Brisky I just get an underlined link, no matter what I do, and it opens in another window when I click it. Same for every other members post on here too. I can't see a single piccy actually in a post, they all appear in another window via a link.

I'm not sure why I would have to, even if I could find the Edit Thread Options bit. I can see pics in a million and one other forums, just like they appear in Flicr or something similar. Do my pics appear actually in the thread post, or do you guys have to click on a link like I do with yours?

Just out of interest, I use Vista on the laptop, and XP on the main PC, yet can't see pics in posts on either.

They show... without clicking on anything. You did post a pic of your car in this thread before you edited it out & it showed fine, same in your new car piccie thread.

Please, try what Andy said - maybe your settings have somehow gone screwy?? Click this then scroll down to the bit that says: "Visible Post Elements" ...and put a tick in the bottom box that says "Show Images", scroll down to the bottom of the page & click the save changes button.

If it's ticked already, untick it, save changes, then go back in & tick it again then save changes... if that doesn't work, you need to PM ColinD & point him to this thread so he can see what you've done/tried.

Dude, I've been back on, reset my cookies cache etc, and filled in the boxes. Suddenly my eyes are open and I can see avatars, pics and siggys no problem!!! Thanks to you all for replying, and finally I can get on without asking anymore stupid questions!! Cheers
