EGR Valve - turn down on PD engine?

Sorry to drag this one up from up from the depths but I am trying to find information on turning my EGR valve down to the min to fault find an issue. Searching isn't giving me an answer...or I'm not looking correctly :D

Octy PD 140 on an 05 plate.

I can find the value in VAG COM under adaptations which shows the duty cycle but the current value is 0 rather that what I have read which should be 32768 (or whatever).
