Overboosting - MIL on 1.9tdi

Featured Replies

Hi just wondered if anyone could shed some light on my fault, not so long ago, i experianced what i beleived to be, the sticking vanes in the turbo fault, under load it would overboost, then go into limp home mode, i could turn off and restart the car and all would be fine, now however the MIL is staying on permantly, and rather than overboost and revert to limp home mode, i get what initialy appears to be a clutch slip fault, under load or heavy accelaration, the MIL comes on, and all of a sudden the car surges, or the revs climb up to about 5k but the car does not go any faster, if anything it seems to lack power, has any one experianced this fault before.

Thanks

If the engine revs climb to 5000 but the car doesn't go any faster then you do indeed have a clutch problem.

You may have another problem as well but if the clutch is slipping it needs to get fixed.
