Might seem like a strange one but i have just bought a vrs and the skoda badgs are all ruined from water. Where is the best place to buy new ones from and is it an easy replacement?

Also when trying to engage 1st gear from second it grinds in but it is ok when going from stoped to 1st what could be the cause of this?

 Thanks for any help you can give Paul.

the front and rear are both £11.86 from the dealers

Usually plenty for sale on e-bay too, as for gears, sorry no idea, you might want to start a different thread for that.

Yes very common. Mine have done the same. Gone white around the edges? Same with wifey's furby:mad:

I got some good 2nd hand ones of ebay for around £4.50 each.

As for gear issue, how fast are you travelling when changing from 2nd to 1st? Won't take much speed to cause the 'box to complain. If you are moving at all then 2nd is what you want. I don't go back to 1st unless at a standstill or near as damn it, otherwise my 'box can crunch too and i know there's nothing wrong with it.

Jim:)

this thread might help you out should you not find any suitable OEM replacements

I swapped my badges recently for new ones.

Dental Floss (removal), and Autoglym bug and tar remover (cleaning the leftovers) are all you should need to get the job done.

Its amazing just how much of a difference minor things like this make :)
