Had my CR 170 VRS DSG re mapped yesterday by Will at P Torque.

Brilliant! All the agonising over wether I should do it seems a bit silly now.

let me start by saying, the map is NOTHING like I expected. This is not in anyway a negative though. At first when Will let me take the car out down the road, I was struggling to notice any massive difference. A 200 metre blast down an industrial estate road did not tell the whole story, in fact, it told me nothing. Driving on the Wolverhampton ring road to the M6 did not reveal much either, as the traffic was slow and speed cameras were everywhere. I reached the M6 Toll- how the hell do you avoid that?? (I was going bloody south for at least 15 miles). This is where I booted it, thing is you don't really notice it.. UNTILL you look at your speedo. 70 - *** mph in next to no time at all. I thought how the hell did that happen? It was still giving me more, but I thought the better of it and eased up.

I spent the rest of the journey up to Harrogate bowling along the A38 to the M1 north.

Doing about 80 (ish), with occasional warp drive moments, I returned 49.3 mpg compared to 45 on the way down.

This morning I took the car out in more familiar territory, and this is where you get a better idea, the hill out of Knaresborough, is chewed up and spat out in dismissive fashion. A quick blast down the ring road toward York revealed hidden depths to the new state of tune. My DSG box changes fractionally smoother than before. first ,second and third are despatched in no time at all.

So, in summary what we have here is a map that is subtle but effective. The car is smoother and oddly more relaxing to drive. Small throttle openings do not betray the fact that the car has been P- Torqued. But give it some welly and it tells the whole story.

So thanks Will, maybe when the warranty is out I will pay you another visit.

Remaps are fun, especially when you have just had it done. The M6 Toll is also renowned for hidden speed traps so hopefully you didnt get caught.

****!!

I await a letter.

Nice review, glad to hear you're pleased with the map. Have you got any RR figures?

Also, how many miles has your vRS done?

On an insurance note. I have just re insured with Chris Knott. ( Highway )

£384. Stage one re map. CHEAPER than my renewal in standard tune from AVIVA ( £413 )
