Another dogbone question

Featured Replies

Which standard dogbone mount has the hardest rubber bush, the 1.9 diesel or 1.8T petrol?

Simon,

I think the petrol ones are, the diesel have different ratings to account for extra vibrations as i understand.

Thats what I thought, just wanted to check.

What about the R32 dogbone mount, assuming it will fit? Is it harder than a standard 1.8T?

Would assume it would but how as to how firm it is im not sure. If you are worried about vibration superpro seem the way to go, am fitting the front dogbone mount too (alongside the rear dogbone mount which i did ages ago) but instead of doing the solid mount i am doing the 'insert' mount to help reduce potentail vibration. Think there are some other options like density mounts which are more tailored mounts to reduce vibration but more expensive too.

If you want a hard mount try the Neuspeed bush as it will make your teeth chatter.

or a powerflex mount on a diesel :) after trying the powerflex and the superpro the superpro offers the same crisp gearchanges as the powerflex but without the noise/vibration.
