Bluefin for vRS 170 TDI CR?

Featured Replies

putting the right amount of fuel in, not too much or in fact too little.

This means the injectors mix the "correct" % of air to fuel and not how much fuel (diesel) you put in the tank :D

hmmmm i tend to just brim mine as i do a good 700 miles a week.

I do about the same, 600 to 750 a week. I too used to brim it. Until I thought about mpg and the weight of 27 litres of diesel if a set of Golf clubs can decrease fuel efficiency by 4mpg.

Now half fill it every time.

I seriously doubt that.

Sounds rather a lot to be honest. I would have said maybe 1mpg if at all.

I would bet that the difference in MPG with a bag of clubs in the boot is so small that it can't be accurately or reliably measured.

...and with a DSG gearbox?

Is it possible to tune the engine??

I would like this for mine but not sure if the dsg can handle the extra torque. Anyone tried it yet?

Ignore last!

I've just ordered a CR 170 DSG and am interested to hear of experiences with remaps, it does sound risky.

BUMP

Anyone?

I have a PD140 DSG remapped to approx. 400nm, nearly 280,000kms on it now. No probs with the gearbox apart from one DMF which is going to go anyway. I know its not a Vrs but the torque outputs are not that different.

i think the 6 speed dsg should be able to cope with the extra torque but not the 7 speed dsg. think this is why the vrs is still using the 6 speed.
