Interior lights failed- SKODA Felicia- X reg classic

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I am new to this forum. I was wondering if some one could help me with an issue with my SKODA felicia (classic X reg).

Last night, When I was trying to charge my sat nav in the car, there was a spark and since then, all interior lights (the one on the top of the front seats and also the boot light) have not been working. :rotz:

The clock (time clock) has also stopped displaying.:rotz:

All other exterior lights have been functioning normal (thank god!!!).

What could be the problem? Is there some thing I could do to rectify this on my own?

I dont know many garages near by wher i live. So worried that they may tell many stories. So just wanted to be prepared with some valuable advice over this forum.

I would really appreciate your help.

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards

Venga

Have you tried checking the fuse perhaps?

I think they are run from the same one so sounds like the likely cause.

Thanks for the reply phil,

How do I check the fuse? Sorry I am really ignorant when it comes to cars.

Tibsy..

Thank you... but what is F15.. how do I find it?

Venga

It is in the fuse box (under the dash on the passenger side). Take the fuse out and check that it is ok or blown.

I shall check it and let you know..

Phil's almost certainly right. I was playing around with the cigarette lighter because the casing had broken. Suddenly it shorted out and I lost the same components that you have lost. The fuse is blue, and if you hold it up to the light you will see (it's translucent) that the metal strip going through it has broken. I went to a Unipart factor and bought a packet of 10 fuses for 99p or thereabouts. At least I can muck it up a few more times and it won't matter!

Good luck,

yes, the interior light and the "nicotine addict" assist socket are on the same circuit-15 amp

Thanks guys, I just bought my Felicia a couple weeks ago and the interior lights, digital clock and lighter socket have never worked. I did think it probably all ran off the same fuse and that it had gone, this confirms my suspicion.

Cheers!
