I'm looking for a new monitor

Featured Replies

Both look pretty good.

I've got an older 22" viewsonic monitor and its fantastic. I think id go for that, especially as it has a HDMI, which gives more compatibility without having to mess with HDMI -> DVI leads.

It's been a while since I looked at monitors and their connections:O

For monitor purposes theres probably no real difference between VGA/DVI/HDMI (unless you use audio as well, in which case HDMI is one lead, vs 2 for the others).

I'd say you will notice a difference between an analogue VGA connection and a digital DVI/HDMI connection. I certainly have on my 22 and 24" monitors. I've found a sharper and brighter image as a result.

DVI and HDMI are virtually the same standard, it's just the connection plug that differs, so use whichever your graphics card has.
